Friulian Dolomites

It is one of the most pristine and wild areas of the Dolomites. Here it is nature that dominates undisputedly with its rivers and deep valleys until it reaches the last rocky spiers that look true to the sea. The mountain system is enclosed between the left Piave, the right Tagliamento - the upper part of Forni di Sotto and di Sopra, Val Tramontina and Val Cellina: Erto casso, Cimolais and Claut.
They are the gateway to the Dolomites and are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List thanks to their beauty and scenic uniqueness. The three Dolomite groups (Duranno - Monfalconi and Pramaggiore) that make up this extraordinary "natural archipelago" involve the territories of two provinces: Pordenone and Udine.
Here thanks to the merit of a great explorer from Pordenone: Giorgio Madinelli, the term "greppism" is born of which he is the founder and the animator. (Greppo = steep and steep side of a hill; Greppism = activity that takes place on the edge, act of ascending or descending steep mountain slopes off the marked paths).

The Dolomites as well as being my passion for nature, hiking and climbing, have been the cradle of love for beauty and silence in its many manifestations to ask me to be their narrator for images: they were born so the three photo books on people and on the territory.

These photo books can be found in the menu of this site and can be purchased by writing to the author: info@ruggerolorenzi.it or at:
the tavern "VALCELLINA" P.zza S. Giorgio in Claut and the VENIER kiosk in P.zza Italia in Maniago.
